Equipment specification
On-site processing changes the economics of a waste stream sharply, because you stop paying to move air. A baled load is worth several times a loose one, and regrind is worth more again. The catch is that the machine has to be sized against the tonnage you actually produce, and a great deal of equipment is sold against the tonnage someone hoped for.

Specified against your numbers
We start from the audit data (real monthly tonnages by stream, current handling cost, current material value) and work out what processing on site is worth per year. Only then do we look at machines. If the payback is not there, we say so, and that is a perfectly common outcome.
Where it is there, the specification covers throughput, footprint, power, labour, maintenance load and the realistic uplift in material value, so the case can go to your board as a number rather than a feeling.
What we typically specify
Vertical and horizontal balers for film, cardboard and rigid plastics; granulators and shredders for production scrap; and separation equipment where a mixed stream can be economically split. We also advise on container sizing and compaction, which is unglamorous and frequently the highest-return change available.
Independent on outcome
We are not a machinery dealer with a range to move. Our interest is in the material afterwards, which means our incentive is for the equipment to be right. An oversized machine that never runs at capacity produces exactly the same problem for both of us.

Common questions about Equipment specification
What payback period is realistic?+
It varies with volume and material value, but a stream that does not pay a machine back inside two to three years is usually better served by a change of container, collection frequency or outlet. We will tell you which one you are looking at.
Do you supply the equipment as well?+
We can source it, but the specification comes first and stands on its own. If you would rather take the spec to your own supplier, that is entirely fine.
Can equipment be justified on a single stream?+
Sometimes. High-volume film or clean polymer scrap often justifies a baler or granulator alone. More often the case is built across two or three streams sharing one machine.
