Recycled LDPE / LLDPE

Film is the stream most often mishandled on a manufacturing site, because it is bulky, light and awkward, so it goes in the general waste skip and gets charged at general waste rates. Baled, clean LDPE film is a material with a market, and the difference between those two treatments is frequently the single largest line in an audit.

Where it goes

The applications we supply recycled material into, so you can see the outlet behind the price.

  • Refuse sacks and heavy-duty sacks
  • Damp-proof membrane
  • Agricultural and construction film
  • Injection-moulded non-critical parts
  • Blended feedstock for compounders

If you produce it

Tell us the grade, the approximate monthly tonnage and how it presents. We price LDPE / LLDPE as it is, rather than as we would like it to be.

If you consume it

Traceable recycled resin as an alternative to virgin, with a technical data sheet and a physical sample before you commit to anything.

Questions

Common questions about LDPE / LLDPE

Does printed film still have value?+

Yes, though less than clear natural film, and heavy print or metallisation narrows the outlets. It is almost always worth more baled than it is in a general waste skip.

We do not have a baler. Is our film still worth collecting?+

Possibly not as loose material, which is why baler specification is one of the things we look at. A film baler is one of the more commonly justified pieces of equipment on a manufacturing site.
